HUBUNGAN ANTARA INTERAKSI TEMAN SEBAYA TERHADAP KEAKTIFAN BELAJAR DAN KETERAMPILAN SOSIAL SISWA SMA

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the relationship between peer interaction and students’ learning activeness at SMAN 6 Kediri, and (2) the relationship between peer interaction and students’ social skills at SMAN 6 Kediri.The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The sample consisted of 48 X grade students selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using peer interaction, learning activeness, and social skills scales. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation with SPSS 26.The results showed that: (1) the correlation between peer interaction and students’ learning activeness at SMAN 6 Kediri was 0,001<0,05 positive corellation; and (2) the correlation between peer interaction and students’ social skills at SMAN 6 Kediri was 0,000<0,05 positive correlation. In conclusion: (1) the higher the level of peer interaction, the higher the students’ learning activeness, however peer interaction is not the dominant factor in increasing learning activeness; and (2) the higher the level of peer interaction, the more developed the students’ social skills, as indicated by the strong correlation. This study was limited to X grade students at the senior high school level.
