Abstract

This study aims to analyze efforts to enhance counselors' self-efficacy in facing the challenges of the 21st century through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. Counselors' self-efficacy plays a crucial role in determining their performance success, which impacts the quality of counseling services. This research utilized the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) analysis, with data sources from Scopus articles from the 2014-2024 period and Google Scholar. Out of 213 identified articles, 18 were selected for in-depth analysis. The results showed that various strategies such as creative training, counseling model development, and multicultural skills training were effective in improving counselors' self-efficacy. All analyzed articles reported positive outcomes from the efforts to enhance self-efficacy, either through self-efficacy measurement scales or the results of counseling practice implementation. This study concludes that enhancing counselors' self-efficacy is essential to support professionalism in fulfilling counseling tasks and should be further developed in future research.
