SIBADO INOVASI LAMPU TIDUR BERBAHAN DASAR LIMBAH SABUT SIWALAN DENGAN MOTIF BATIK GEDOG SEBAGAI UPAYA EKSISTENSI BUDAYA ETNIK TUBAN

Abstract

Tuban is an area with large and underutilized siwalan coir waste. Besides siwalan, Tuban is rich in its batik, namely Batik Gedog. 40 out of 100 motifs have been patented as cultural preservation (Pratiwi & Sulistyowati, 2020). BPS data shows the number of imported goods in Indonesia in the third quarter of 2017 was 15.09% (Budiyanti, 2017). Therefore, the researchers created the Sibado product (a night lamp made from siwalan coir waste with a gedog batik motif as an effort to exist for the Tuban ethnic culture). There are two models of Sibado lamps, namely sitting and hanging. This model adapts to the nature of the borassus flabellifer. To help the process of making sibado, additional material is needed, namely coconut shell so that the frame is more rigid and easy to shape. The researcher uses several implementation methods including: Pre Production (market analysis, product design, packaging design, purchase of raw materials, tools and materials), Production, Packaging, Financial Analysis, and marketing. This research produces environmentally friendly Sibado lighting products by promoting the original gedog batik culture of Tuban, as well as reducing environmental pollution from Siwalan fruit coir.
