The research was distributed by the geometry lessons in elementary school. While the ability to think mathematically and geometric visualization capabilities students are still not optimally developed and still belongs to the low. According to van hiele theory some researchers provide a strong influence in learning geometry and can increase the capability of thinking of the child. Formulation of the problem in this research is need to be developed a learning materials for mathematics on geometry developed according to Van Hiele theory to the students of classes V primary school can help students think systematically, knowing the stage of thinking and improve your grade V. The aim is make it easier for students to understand the material geometry, help students think systematically, and can find out the stage of thinking of students in learning geometry. This resulted in a development of research materials. This development process involving expert instructional design experts and material to obtain suggestions for the sake of improvement. In addition, the expert field of primary school are also being asked to provide feedback and suggestions. Product development improvement after review of expert material, expert instructional design is a small group of test which is a primary school teacher of experts composed of three people and field trials that consists of one class. Field trial results obtained from student opinion question form and indicate the percentage 93% which means learning materials in the category of excellent qualifications. Thus, the learning materials developed by the Dewi Rachmayanti Permana can be used in learning by teachers and students.
