Abstract

This study aims to describe the social and cultural values embedded in the Sedekah Bumi tradition and its significance for elementary school students in Ketapangtelu Village, Lamon- gan Regency. The study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The re- search subjects consisted of community leaders, fifth-grade teachers, and elementary school students. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, with data analysis techniques including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results indicate that the Sedekah Bumi tradition embodies social values such as reciprocal cooperation, together- ness, social solidarity, and community participation. Furthermore, this tradition embodies cul- tural values including religiosity, gratitude, agrarian cultural identity, and the transmission of local culture. Elementary school students view the Sedekah Bumi tradition as an activity that fosters togetherness, gratitude, and meaningful socio-cultural learning experiences. In conclu- sion, the Sedekah Bumi tradition has the potential to become a learning resource based on local wisdom relevant to Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) in elementary schools.
