INTERNALISASI NILAI KESEDERHANAAN PADA TEKNOLOGI TRADISIONAL ARSITEKTUR RUMAH TINGGAL KAMPUNG ADAT KEPUTIHAN KABUPATEN CIREBON

Abstract

The community of Keputihan Indigenous Hamlet Cirebon Regency still holds the traditional customs passed down by their ancestors, this is manifested in the form of residential architecture that still uses traditional technology which is full of simplicity. This research examines the internalization of the value of simplicity in the traditional technology of residential architecture in the Keputihan Indigenous Hamlet community. The value of simplicity affects the attitude and daily behavior of the local community. The method used in this research is ethnographic method with data collection techniques through literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are to provide a comprehensive description of the value of simplicity in residential architecture, the influence of the value of simplicity on community character, and community efforts in maintaining the value of simplicity in everyday life.

Masyarakat Kampung Adat Keputihan Kabupaten Cirebon masih memegang adat tradisi yang diturunkan oleh nenek moyang mereka terdahulu ini terwujud dari bentuk arsitektur rumah tinggal yang masih menggunakan teknologi tradisional yang sarat dengan nilai kesederhanaan. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang internalisasi nilai kesederhanaan pada teknologi tradisional arsitektur rumah tinggal masyarakat Kampung Adat Keputihan. Nilai kesederhaan tersebut berpengaruh pada sikap dan perilaku sehari-hari masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode etnografi dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini ialah untuk memberikan gambaran secara komprehensif tentang nilai kesederhaan pada arsitektur rumah tinggal, pengaruh nilai  kesederhaan pada karakter masyarakat, serta upaya masyarakat dalam mempertahankan nilai kesederhaan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
