Art is seen as a means of communicating human feelings. The Joglo house with a tajug roof located in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, has a special and unique charm. This building maintains the authenticity and integrity of traditional Javanese architectural elements, starting from kuncung, lintring, pringitan, pendapa, to dalem ageng. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, collecting data through field observations and interviews with house owners, surrounding communities, as well as studies of related literature. The aim of this research is to provide a detailed explanation of the traditional joglo roof structure so that it can be used as material for consideration and learning to be applied to similar buildings when carrying out maintenance, repair and reconstruction of buildings. The main structure of the Tajug roof, which consists of four pillars and an intercropping structure, functions as the core of the building structure. The symbolic language that is used to implement traditional joglo structures was developed through research into natural suggestions. As a result, society at the time was trying to get closer to the universe in order to get closer to God. so that there is a relationship between him and God, as well as a relationship between him and the universe, his environment, and the microcosm.
