PERILAKU KONSUMTIF TERHADAP FAST FASHION : DAMPAK PADA LINGKUNGAN, SOSIAL DAN ALTERNATIF SOLUSI DALAM MENGURANGI FAST FASHION

Industri pakaian telah mengalami perubahan besar dengan kemunculan konsep cepat mode, yang memungkinkan barang-barang fashion diproduksi dan dijual dengan cepat untuk mengikuti tren terbaru. Fast fashion ditandai oleh cara produksi yang efisien, yang sering kali dilakukan di negara-negara dengan upah rendah, sehingga konsumen dapat menemukan produk baru secara teratur di toko. Meskipun memberikan kemudahan dan variasi bagi pembeli, model bisnis ini juga menghadirkan masalah serius terkait dampak terhadap lingkungan. Diperkirakan bahwa sektor fashion menyumbang antara 8-10% dari total emisi CO2 dunia dan menghasilkan 20% dari total limbah global, sementara penggunaan air mencapai 93 miliar meter kubik setiap tahunnya. Lebih dari itu, sekitar 40 juta orang bekerja di sektor ini, dengan banyak dari mereka berada di negara-negara berpendapatan rendah di mana keselamatan kerja sering kali diabaikan. Fast fashion menciptakan siklus konsumsi yang cepat, di mana masa pakai pakaian menjadi sangat pendek, sering kali dibuang setelah digunakan hanya beberapa kali. Hal ini berkontribusi pada dampak lingkungan yang signifikan dan menimbulkan pertanyaan tentang keberlanjutan industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana fast fashion mempengaruhi perilaku konsumsi masyarakat serta kesadaran mereka terhadap dampak lingkungan yang ditimbulkan. Dengan memahami perspektif konsumen terhadap fast fashion dan kesadaran akan konsekuensi lingkungan, penelitian ini berusaha memberikan wawasan yang lebih luas mengenai bagaimana dampak fast fashion kepada lingkungan sekitar secara lebih luas.
