Abstract

Low time management skills are one of the problems that affect the academic achievement of students in grade XI-F2 of SMA Negeri 2 Kudus. Students tend to postpone assignments, do not make study schedules, and are less able to prioritize activities. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services with self-management techniques in improving students' time management skills, especially in the aspects of planning, organizing, and controlling study time. This study uses the Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) approach of the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was implemented in two cycles. The research subjects were ten students selected through a purposive sampling method, with the following criteria: (1) having a low time management score based on the questionnaire results, (2) being willing to participate in group guidance services in full, and (3) not experiencing learning disorders or serious psychological obstacles. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively.  The results showed an increase in time management scores from an average of 50.3 (inappropriate) in the pre-cycle to 63.4 (fairly appropriate) after the first cycle, and 84.6 (very appropriate) after the second cycle. These findings indicate that group guidance services with self-management techniques are effective in improving students' time management skills. Therefore, this technique is recommended for continuous implementation in guidance and counseling services to support academic success and character development in students
