Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explore the competencies required by Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers based on the standards set by Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 137 of 2014. Using direct interviews with ECE teachers at KB Al-Jihad in Bandung, the study identifies key competencies, including the ability to design play-based learning in line with Piaget's cognitive theory, integrate technology, and apply child development assessments. Reflection, evaluation, and social competence to create inclusive learning environments are also essential components. These findings provide valuable guidance for understanding the role of teachers in fostering meaningful, effective learning while respecting diversity in ECE settings.
