PEMBENTUKAN SIKAP KEBERAGAMAAN ANAK MELALUI AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING PERSPEKTIF PENDIDIKAN ISLAM
THE FORMATION OF CHILDREN'S RELIGIOUS ATTITUDES THROUGH AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING AN ISLAMIC EDUCATION PERSPECTIVE

An individual's religious attitude does not emerge instantly, but rather through a series of processes that begin from childhood and continue into adulthood. Childhood is a crucial period in building the foundation of religious values, and parents play a central role in determining the parenting style that shapes these religious attitudes. This study aims to examine the characteristics of authoritarian parenting from the Islamic education perspective and its contribution to the formation of children's religious attitudes. This qualitative research uses the library research method to collect data from various literatures. The data is analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana technique, which consists of data condensation, data display, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The findings show that authoritarian parenting from the Islamic education perspective, or what is referred to as Imani-Amali parenting based on discipline, has unique characteristics that differ from the Western perspective. These characteristics include firm commands, strict discipline, punishments aimed at shaping positive habits, a combination of firmness and gentleness, adherence to the values of Tawhid, dependence only on Allah, direct control, and habituation from an early age. This parenting style has been shown to contribute to the formation of essential Islamic values, accustoming children to live alongside religion, and making it an integral part of daily activities. Moreover, this parenting style has a long-term influence on the formation of a strong Islamic character, in both worship and obedience to Allah. Therefore, authoritarian parenting from the Islamic education perspective not only builds a strong religious foundation but also simultaneously develops both spiritual and moral aspects.
