Abstract

This research aims to improve mathematical logic intelligence of 5-6 year old children through loose part media at PAUD Harapan Ummat Medan Polonia. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with two cycles, the study involved 15 children and 2 teachers. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Loose part media included natural materials such as leaves, stones, seeds, and seashells. Research results showed significant improvement in children's mathematical logic intelligence. In the first cycle, most children were in the Beginning to Develop (MB) category. In the second cycle, the percentage of children in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category increased dramatically from 13.3% to 53.3% in the first meeting, and reached 80% in the second meeting in matching numbers with the number of objects. The research conclusion proves the effectiveness of loose part media in developing logical and systematic thinking skills in early childhood. The study recommends teachers use interactive and engaging media to stimulate children's mathematical logic intelligence.
