LITERATURE STUDY: ART LEARNING IN OPTIMIZING CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Art-based learning plays a vital role in optimizing the development of early childhood, particularly during the golden age-a critical period for growth in cognitive, motor, language, socio-emotional, and moral domains. This article aims to explore the contribution of art education to children's development through a literature review approach. The study employs qualitative methods using library research by analyzing various relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that art through music, dance, visual arts, and drama stimulates creativity, enhances language skills, strengthens motor development, and supports social and emotional growth in an integrated manner. Artistic activities also offer children opportunities to express themselves freely and joyfully, making learning experiences more meaningful. Integrating arts into the early childhood curriculum not only enriches children's learning experiences but also serves as an effective strategy for character education and holistic development.
