Social-emotional development requires appropriate stimulation, such as through interactive and enjoyable play media. At the age of 4-5, children begin to engage in social play, specifically cooperative play with their peers. In cooperative play, children still face difficulties in showing enthusiasm and adhering to the rules. Based on this issue, the researcher used board games as an alternative medium for children's social-emotional development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using board games on children's social-emotional development. This research used a Quasi-Experimental method with a Time Series Design. The population of this study was 4-5 year-old children with a research sample of 15 children consisting of 7 boys and 8 girls. The research data was obtained from the results of four pretests and posttests using the children’s social emotional development observation sheet instrument. Based on the results of the analysis, an effect of 84,53% was obtained from the use of board games, which is in the very strong and positive category on the social emotional development of children aged 4-5 years at Al-Khairiyah Ramanuju Kindergarden.
