The researcher uses number pinwheel media as an object to attract curiosity so that they understand initial counting. This study aims to explain the initial counting ability and the use of number pinwheel media on the initial counting ability of children aged 4-5 years at TK PGRI Cilegon. This research uses a quantitative method with an experimental design using a Quasi Experimental Design. The object of the research is the use of number pinwheel media. The subjects of this study are children aged 4-5 years, class guardians, and the principal. The sampling technique uses the Slovin formula. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this research consist of prerequisite tests including validity test, reliability test, normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, through paired sample t-test. The initial counting ability of children aged 4-5 years includes the ability to order number symbols, the ability to mention numbers 1-10, the ability to imitate number symbols 1-10, the ability to draw number patterns 1-10, and the skillfulness in initial counting concepts. The application of number pinwheel media for children aged 4-5 years at TK PGRI Cilegon includes children recognizing number symbol shapes through the number pinwheel, children being able to understand the concept of addition, through the number pinwheel media learning becomes more concrete, children are able to think creatively, and children recognize colors through the number pinwheel media. From the calculation of the Paired Sample T-Test, it shows that the t-count (7.479) > t-table (0.532), which means that the number pinwheel media has an effect on the initial counting ability of children aged 4-5 years at TK PGRI Cilegon.
