Abstract

Mindful Parenting is a method that needs to be implemented in the context of Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Education (PAUD), especially in Ruteng. Amidst the rich culture and traditions in Ruteng, mindful parenting emphasizes awareness of children's physical, emotional, and social aspects. Parents are encouraged to interact with their children in a more active and sensitive manner, recognizing that every moment together is an opportunity to support their growth. By integrating mindfulness practices into the parenting process, parents can manage their stress and emotions, thereby creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere for their children. This study aims to analyze and discuss mindful parenting practices implemented by parents of early childhood children in seven kindergartens/PAUDs in Ruteng. This descriptive qualitative study used a survey approach and utilized questionnaire instruments and interview guides. The study was conducted in seven kindergartens/PAUDs in Ruteng. The research subjects consisted of 45 parents of early childhood children. The data analysis method used descriptive analysis. The results showed that parents have actually been aware of and implemented the concept of mindful parenting in raising early childhood children. The five indicators used cover the concept of mindfulness and how children respond to stories or understanding. Indicator 2 relates to Mindfulness in Mindful Parenting for Children with Early Childhood Development; Indicator 3 focuses on attention to emotions in Mindful Parenting for Children with Early Childhood Development; Indicator 4 focuses on Self-Regulation in Parenting Children with Early Childhood Development; and Indicator 5 focuses on parents' understanding of the concept of compassion in the context of Mindful Parenting for Children with Early Childhood Development. This study evaluates mindful parenting practices among parents of early childhood development in Ruteng, highlighting key indicators across various aspects. Collectively, these findings indicate that parents in seven kindergartens/early childhood development schools (TK/PAUD) in Ruteng city consciously apply the principles of mindful parenting, enhancing emotional connectivity and support within the family dynamic. Although theoretical understandings vary, the integration of these practices reflects local wisdom in fostering healthy parent-child relationships.
