The quality of human resources influences the quality of the nation, so it can be said that the quality of early childhood, as the next generation of the nation, plays a very important role in the quality of the nation. One aspect of services to early childhood is care, and one of the activities of care is education. Good care will encourage children to have good character such as responsibility, independence, discipline and self-confidence. In general, child care is attached to the mother figure as the main role, although in practice there is care by the father, also by grandparents or other relatives. This study aims to describe early childhood care carried out by grandparents in the last 5 years, as well as the causes of it, how it impacts children and tips or practical steps for authoritative care by grandparents. The research method uses a Systematic Literature Review model Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses, based primarily on Google Scholar data, for the period 2020 to 2025 with descriptive data analysis techniques. In addition, there are several free articles (not based on Google Scholar) and several articles based on Eric to deepen the description. This research reveals that early childhood care by grandparents can be due to factors such as parental death, divorce, economic factors, or parents being busy working. The impact is not always negative, as the stigma in society suggests, but can still be positive. If grandparents implement appropriate parenting patterns, early childhood development is as good as that of early childhood children raised by their parents (living with their parents) who also implement appropriate parenting patterns. The opposite is true, and the parenting style considered appropriate to apply is authoritative (democratic). One tip (practical step) for authoritative parenting by grandparents that is worth emulating is parenting with love, wisdom, and example, becoming a guide for children towards the future.
