THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MODEL ASSISTED BY POP-UP BOOK MEDIA ON STUDENTS' CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model combined with Pop-Up Book media in students' critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group that received PjBL instructions assisted by the Pop-Up Book media and the control group that received conventional learning. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling involving grade IV elementary school students. Data was collected through critical thinking skills tests, observation, and documentation. The results of statistical analysis showed that the average score of students' critical thinking ability in the experimental group increased significantly higher than in the control group, with a significance value of < 0.05. The findings show that the integration of the PjBL model with the Pop-Up Book media is effective in improving the critical thinking skills of elementary school students.
