Abstract

This research aims to develop a singing method to improve intonation skills in children
aged 5 to 6 years who experience speech delays. The singing method was chosen because it is
known that music and songs positively influence children's language and communication
development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method involving five
children diagnosed with speech delays. Data was collected through observation,
interviews with parents and teachers, and documentation of children's development before
and after intervention. The intervention was carried out for three months with a frequency of twice
a week. The results of the study showed that there was a significant improvement in children's
intonation abilities after attending regular singing sessions. Children show increased ability to
control the pitch and rhythm of their voice, as well as increased emotional and social engagement.
This singing method has proven effective as a speech therapy tool for children with speech delays
and can be integrated into wider educational and therapeutic programs.
Keywords: singing methods, intonation abilities, speech delays, children aged 5 to 6 years,
