Abstract

The SLPGT unit has high occupational safety risks because it involves LPG, 15% caustic soda, MDEA, pressurized systems, valve operation, inspection, maintenance, and potential leakage. This study aims to analyze and formulate occupational safety risk control in the SLPGT unit using JSA-HIRADC. JSA was used to identify hazards in each work activity, while HIRADC was used to assess risks based on likelihood and consequence. The results identified 12 potential hazards, consisting of 4 high risks, 7 medium risks, and 1 low risk. The highest risks were found in 15% caustic soda filling with a risk score of 16, leakage handling with a risk score of 15, valve opening and closing with a risk score of 12, and minor maintenance with a risk score of 12. Recommended controls include closed transfer systems, gas detection, LOTO, permit to work, emergency shower, spill kit, checklists, and chemical PPE. This study confirms that SLPGT risk control must be based on activity priority and control hierarchy.
