Abstract

The teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in elementary schools is required to provide meaningful, contextual learning experiences that align with 21st-century learner needs. One emerging approach in educational innovation is immersive learning, which refers to learning experiences intentionally designed to place learners within realistic environments through digital technologies, simulations, project-based activities, or instructional strategies that engage emotions, senses, and active interaction. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Immersive Learning as an innovative approach in the teaching of PAI at the elementary school level. The method employed is a literature review with an analytical approach, involving research articles, educational practice documents, and relevant learning theories. The findings indicate that Immersive Learning holds significant potential to enhance the effectiveness of PAI instruction by offering learning experiences that are more interactive, contextual, and meaningful. However, its successful implementation requires adequate infrastructure, improved teacher competencies, and supportive policies to ensure optimal integration within the elementary education system.
