Pengaruh Penerapan Strategi Directed Reading Thinking Activity Terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman Pada Siswa Kelas IV

This research was conducted on the basis of problems found at SD Inpres Tello Baru I/1, namely the low ability to read students' comprehension. This study aims (1) To determine the application of strategies (DRTA) in student reading comprehension learning in grade IV UPT SPF SD Inpres Tello Baru I / 1 Makassar City, (2) To find out the ability to read students' comprehension before and after using strategies (DRTA) in grade IV students UPT SPF SD Inpres Tello Baru I / 1 Makassar City, (3) To find out the influence of the application of strategies (DRTA) on the ability to read comprehension of grade IV students UPT SPF SD Inpres Tello Baru I / 1 Makassar City. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design form. The research design used is nonequivalent control group design. The sample used was 30 students. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include observation sheets, tests, and documentation. Data collection procedures, namely pretest, treatment, and posttest, were then analyzed statistically descriptively and inferential statistics using the IBM Statistical Pachage For Social Science (SPSS) version 20 system. The results of this study show that: (1) learning activities using strategies (DRTA) are going well. (2) Students' ability to read comprehension in Indonesian language learning after being given treatment using strategies (DRTA) shows differences. This is evidenced by the results of the pretest and posttest of students' reading comprehension ability from the less category to the good category. (3) There is an influence on the application of strategies (DRTA) on the reading comprehension ability of grade IV upt SPF students of SD Inpres Tello Baru I/1 Makassar City.
