Reading and writing skills are important prerequisites for learning. Therefore, every student, especially lower class students, must master reading and writing skills. In the lower classes, especially class I elementary school, there are still students who are not yet able to read and write, making learning difficult. The use of a learning environment is essential for this. One learning medium that first grade students may be interested in is Scrabble. This research aims to provide a description of the use of Scrabble media on the initial reading and writing skills of grade 1 students at MI Tarbiyatul Ulum, reading and writing skills after using Scrabble media, and the obstacles faced by teachers when using Scrabble media and providing benefits, namely helping students read. and writing new vocabulary through games and helping teachers make learning more effective and fun. This research uses a qualitative method that forms descriptive data in the form of sentences based on research findings. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and documentation. Reducing data, presenting data descriptively and drawing conclusions are the Miles and Huberman models used by researchers in their data analysis techniques. Qualitative data analysis activities are carried out continuously until complete data is completed. This research shows the results that the use of Scrabble media in class 1 Indonesian language subjects at MI Tarbiyatul Ulum is carried out with appropriate steps, based on the results of students' LKPD so that it is necessary to improve writing skills in class 1 students and obstacles for teachers who want to teach reading and reading skills. write to students, namely the student's motivation and interest in learning as well as the student's home environment.
