Abstract

The background of this study is the lack of students' ability in critical reasoning aspects that require improvement. This study aims to determine the strengthening of students' critical reasoning dimension through P5 activities in class IV of SD Negeri 1 Ciracap. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Ciracap and all fourth grade students totaling 18 students became the research subjects. The research method used was Kemmis and Mc Taggart design classroom action research consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The techniques used to collect data are observation and documentation. The data obtained will be analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that P5 activities can strengthen the critical reasoning dimension in grade IV students at SD Negeri 1 Ciracap. The results showed that in the pre-cycle the average value of student learning outcomes was 68 and 50% classical completeness was included in the BB criteria. In cycle I, the average value of student learning outcomes was 76 and 72% classical completeness was included in the BSH criteria. While in cycle II the average value of student learning outcomes was 82 with 89% classical completeness included in the BSB criteria.
